| NATURE TOUR …..for those who love rare specimens in nature, and sports like rafting, trekking, cross-country skiing……. ANGITOLA LAKE, a protected WWF oasis of 300 hectares near Pizzo Calabro. A wet zone with rich marshlands, home of flora and fauna of international interest. Many species of migratory birds stop there, including the great white heron. Guided tours are possible. SILA, the highlands that have become the Sila National Park (about 74,000 hectares) since 2002, is one of the most fascinating places in the country, with marvelous forests and sunny pastures. In July and August, the temperature never gets higher than 20° C. É There are century-old larch pines throughout the area, often reaching heights of over 40 meters. In the winter it is ideal for cross-country skiing and in the spring, autumn and summer it offers endless opportunities to practice trekking in an uncontaminated country. É It is possible to go rafting on the Lao river, between the Pollino and the Orsomarso. For a half-day trekking experience in spring and autumn, the ideal zone is Cozzo Grassullo, south of Amantea. ...for fans of diving.... The WWF blue oasis of ISCA is a section of the sea on the extreme southern tip of the coastal chain between Amantea and Belmonte Calabro. The fantastic sea floor reaches a maximum depth of 25 meters.
